New regulations regardingĀ property purchases in the borderland areas of greeceĀ for non eu members stipulated on the 26th march 2024
The Committees that grant the permits to purchase properties in the borderland areas of Greece had stopped granting permits from April 2023 , due to new regulations that were stipulated , but which were unclear, as they imposed restrictions based on the percentage of non-EU buyers compared to the population of the specific areas. The issue was resolved by new legislation that was voted for and published on the 26th March 2024, which in general removed the vague stipulations regarding population restrictions , but has maintained the birth certificate of the applicant as an extra necessary document for the application.
Therefore, according to the above amendment in regulations, the required supporting documents, for the application for the permit to purchase for natural persons are :
1) Application signed by the applicant and the vendor.
2) Short curriculum vitae of the applicant
3) Recent (within the last semester from the date of filing the application) criminal record for judicial use, with the Apostille Stamp
4) Certified photocopy of the applicant’s valid passport.
5) Birth certificate with the Apostille Stamp
6) Topographic diagram of the property, with specific stipulations and scale.
